Embroidery

EMBROIDERY
One of the oldest of the ornamental arts, and mentioned by Herodotus. Originally a needlework of antique origin, consisting in executing designs with thread or other flexible material on a textile or leather ground. Machines are now available that do embroidery work of high artistic merit, and most of the modern embroidery is machine' made.
